Adapter JJC for Sony Multi Interface Shoe to Standard Hot Shoe SB4012
Adapter JJC for Sony Multi Interface Shoe to Standard Hot Shoe SB4012
The JJC Adapter for Sony Multi Interface Shoe to Standard Hot Shoe SB4012 allows cameras with Sony's proprietary Multi Interface (MI) shoe to accept standard ISO hot shoe accessories. This adapter provides a mechanical mount and preserves the central flash contact required for triggering external flashes and simple triggers, enabling physical and electrical connection between the camera body and third‑party flashes or optical/electronic triggers.
This adapter provides a straightforward mechanical and electrical interface that retains the central contact for flash firing while converting the Sony MI shoe to a universal hot shoe pattern. It is compact and lightweight, designed to maintain secure attachment of compatible flashes and accessories. By enabling use of standard flash units and triggers, the adapter increases accessory compatibility without modifying camera or flash units.
Slide the adapter into the camera's Sony Multi Interface Shoe until it is seated securely, ensuring the central contact aligns with the camera's contact point. Mount the standard flash or hot shoe accessory onto the adapter's top shoe and tighten any locking mechanism present on the flash or adapter. Verify that the camera recognises the accessory for flash triggering by performing a test fire or using the camera's flash control settings.
Use the adapter with compatible flashes and triggers that rely only on the central firing contact; advanced TTL or proprietary communication features may not be supported. Avoid excessive side loads or heavy accessories that could stress the camera's shoe. Inspect contacts periodically and keep them clean to ensure reliable triggering.
