Motion Detector Joy-iT MPU6050 Black
The Joy-iT MPU6050 motion detector is a compact sensor module (25 mm × 20 mm × 7 mm) in black, designed for integration in robotics and automation projects. It combines a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer to deliver 6 degrees of freedom motion sensing with I²C communication and an 8-pin, 2.54 mm pitch connector. The module includes a 16-bit AD converter and a low-dropout (LDO) regulator.
The MPU6050 provides combined gyroscope and accelerometer data on a single chip, enabling synchronous 6-DoF measurements. Sensitivity specifications are 16,384 LSB/g for acceleration and 131 LSB/°/s for angular rate, which allow precise motion detection for many embedded applications. Built-in 16-bit ADC and LDO regulation simplify signal conditioning and power management. The standard 2.54 mm pin spacing and I²C interface make the module easy to connect to common microcontrollers and development boards.
Connect the module to a microcontroller via the I²C bus using the 8-pin header (observe VCC and GND polarity). Configure the microcontroller I²C peripheral and address the MPU6050 on the bus. Read accelerometer and gyroscope registers via I²C and convert raw readings using the stated sensitivities (16,384 LSB/g for acceleration, 131 LSB/°/s for gyroscope) to obtain physical units. Use the built-in ADC and regulator features as appropriate for your power and signal requirements. Refer to the MPU6050 datasheet for register maps and initialization sequences.
Place the sensor on a stable mounting surface and avoid placing it near strong magnetic or vibration sources that could affect gyroscope or accelerometer readings. Ensure correct power supply voltage and decoupling near the module. Calibrate offset and scale factors in your application for best accuracy.
