Expansion board Joy-iT RB-STROMPI3
The Joy-iT RB-STROMPI3 expansion board extends Raspberry Pi capabilities by providing wide-range power inputs, an optional plug-in LiFePO4 battery module for emergency power, a real-time clock (RTC) and a configurable microsystem for autonomous start-stop behaviour. It supports input voltages from 6V to 61V and delivers up to 3A, and is available in multiple colours. The board is compact (55 mm × 54 mm × 20 mm) and connects directly to a Raspberry Pi to add reliable power management, time synchronization and serial control functions.
The RB-STROMPI3 allows uninterrupted operation of Raspberry Pi projects through an optional rechargeable LiFePO4 battery module and prioritized inputs that handle automatic switchover during power loss. Its wide input voltage range (6V–61V) and up to 3A output current support larger installations. The built-in RTC keeps time without internet access, while the autonomous microsystem enables programmable boot and shutdown schedules. A serial control interface provides access to battery charge status, input/output voltages and configuration options.
Mount the RB-STROMPI3 on the Raspberry Pi header according to the manufacturer’s instructions and connect the chosen power input within the 6V–61V range. If required, install the optional plug-in LiFePO4 battery module to provide rechargeable emergency power. Use the serial interface to configure input priorities, check battery charge status and read input/output voltages. Program the built-in microsystem to define automatic boot and shutdown schedules and use the RTC to synchronize system time when network access is unavailable.
For reliable long-term operation, ensure proper ventilation and use cabling and power supplies rated for the maximum current. Regularly check battery health if the LiFePO4 module is used, and back up any important configuration when updating firmware or changing priority settings via the serial interface.
