Pre-loaded subwoofer JVC CS-BW120
The JVC CS-BW120 is a pre-loaded subwoofer designed for car audio systems, offering 150 W RMS (1300 W peak) power and a frequency response of 37–2500 Hz. It features an injection-molded polypropylene cone, a painted SPCC metal frame, a high-density foam surround and a super heat-resistant ABS gasket. The unit uses a 605 g ferrite magnet and is push 8AWG ready. Its bass-reflex ported enclosure provides enhanced low-frequency output while the compact dimensions (486 mm W × 269 mm D × 342 mm H) allow flexible installation.
The pre-loaded design simplifies installation into compatible enclosures and vehicles. The injection PP cone and high-density foam surround deliver controlled low-frequency response, while the ferrite magnet and heat-resistant ABS gasket support reliable performance under sustained load. Painted SPCC frame improves mechanical strength and appearance. Push 8AWG readiness facilitates secure speaker wiring for higher current handling.
Place the pre-loaded subwoofer into a suitably sized ported (bass-reflex) enclosure or a compatible vehicle cavity designed for pre-loaded units. Connect speaker wiring using the push 8AWG terminals, observing correct polarity. Match the subwoofer with an amplifier capable of delivering appropriate RMS power and set crossover frequency and gain on the amplifier or head unit so the subwoofer operates within its frequency range (recommended below 2500 Hz, typically with a low-pass filter set much lower for bass use). Secure the unit with appropriate fasteners and ensure the enclosure is sealed where required except for the port opening.
For reliable performance, pair the CS-BW120 with an amplifier that supplies clean power near the rated 150 W RMS, use a low-pass filter (commonly 60–120 Hz depending on system tuning), and install it in a properly sized ported enclosure to achieve optimal low-frequency output. Ensure wiring uses adequate gauge and solid connections to the push 8AWG terminals.
