Light switch Kanlux 33494 single-pole ABS housing IP54 250 V
The Kanlux TEKNO single-pole light switch model 33494 is a white, wall-mounted on/off switch with an ABS housing and IP54 ingress protection, rated for 250 V AC. It is designed for basic manual control of lighting and simple electrical circuits in indoor and semi-protected outdoor locations where dust and splashing water may occur, such as bathrooms, utility rooms, garages and covered porches. The form factor fits a standard single-gang wall box and the neutral white finish integrates with most interiors.
The switch pairs a simple mechanical single-pole contact with IP54 sealing to resist limited dust ingress and protect against water splashes from any direction. Its construction from durable ABS offers basic impact and corrosion resistance while the compact single-gang design makes installation and replacement straightforward. The device provides reliable manual on/off control for a single live conductor in installations that need improved environmental protection compared with ordinary domestic switches.
This single-pole switch is not suitable when multi-way (two-way) switching is required, for example stairway or corridor circuits controlled from multiple locations. It is also not intended for prolonged outdoor exposure without shelter, for direct water jets, or for applications needing higher IP ratings, special switching functions (dimming, relay control) or different voltage ratings.
Install the switch following local electrical regulations and with the power supply turned off. Connect the live conductor to the switch input and the switched live to the output terminal; keep neutral conductors continuous where required by the circuit and ensure proper earthing. Securely mount the device in a compatible single-gang box and tighten terminals according to manufacturer torque recommendations. After installation, restore power and verify correct on/off operation. Use the switch only for manual control of a single circuit and confirm the connected loads do not exceed standard domestic switch ratings.
For safety and reliability, have the Kanlux TEKNO switch installed by a qualified electrician. Avoid exposure to direct water jets and heavy contamination. Use the switch for standard lighting and fan circuits within its rated voltage and environmental limits.
