Cable splitter Kathrein EXR 121
The Kathrein EXR 121 cable splitter is a compact passive device engineered for reliable RF signal distribution. It supports an impedance of 75 Ω and covers a wide frequency range from 47 to 2150 MHz, allowing simultaneous handling of terrestrial and satellite signals. The splitter provides two terrestrial video inputs and selectable satellite outputs (A/B) in a small housing measuring 35 x 74 x 21 mm, suitable for installation in confined spaces within residential or commercial installations.
The splitter’s wide frequency range enables compatibility with DVB-T/T2, cable TV and satellite IF signals, reducing the need for multiple devices. Its passive design requires no power source and ensures stable signal distribution with minimal insertion loss. The compact mechanical size and sturdy construction simplify mounting near wall outlets, distribution boxes, or inside equipment racks while maintaining consistent electrical characteristics across the specified bandwidth.
Connect the incoming terrestrial antenna or cable sources to the two terrestrial video input ports and connect the satellite feed to the satellite input. Use the A/B satellite output selection as required by the rest of your distribution system. Mount the unit close to the point of distribution using screws or within a distribution enclosure, and make all RF connections with properly fitted 75 Ω F-type connectors to maintain impedance continuity and minimize signal loss. No external power supply is required for operation.
For best results, keep cable runs as short as practical and use high-quality 75 Ω coaxial cable and connectors. Avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain on the splitter’s housing and connectors. If signal levels are low after installation, consider measuring signal strength and, if necessary, using an active amplifier or a different split ratio device suited to the system’s requirements.
