The Kingston IronKey Keypad 200 series are hardware-encrypted USB Type-A and USB Type-C drives with an alphanumeric keypad for PIN access. The KP200 family uses XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption, features tamper-evident construction with a protective epoxy over critical circuitry, and includes protections such as brute-force attack defense, BadUSB protection with digitally signed firmware, and a polymer-coated keypad that resists fingerprint analysis. Models with dual-channel performance include KP200 at 512GB and KP200C at 64GB–512GB. A built-in rechargeable battery allows the drive to be unlocked via the keypad before connecting to any device that supports USB Type-A or USB Type-C mass storage.

How to use

Unlock the drive using the alphanumeric keypad by entering the configured PIN; the built-in battery powers keypad unlocking so no software is required. After successful PIN entry, connect the drive to a device using the appropriate USB Type-A or USB Type-C connector to access files as a standard mass storage device. Configure Admin and User PINs via the keypad to enable Multi-PIN operation. Admin can restore a User PIN if it is forgotten or if the drive locks after 10 failed User attempts. Enable session Read-Only mode from the keypad when connecting to untrusted systems, or set Global Read-Only mode as Admin to permanently restrict write access until reset.

Recommendations

Use distinct, hard-to-guess alphanumeric PINs for Admin and User accounts, keep the device charged before deploying, and set Global Read-Only mode when distributing data that must remain unmodified. If the Admin PIN is entered incorrectly 10 times in succession, the drive will crypto-erase to protect data.
