Combination pliers Knipex KNIP/0306160 chrome plated 160 mm

Combination pliers Knipex KNIP/0306160 chrome plated 160 mm are precision hand tools designed for gripping, bending and cutting wire and small components. Their compact 160 mm length provides access in confined spaces and allows precise manual control. The chrome-plated surface reduces corrosion and eases cleaning, while the hardened cutting edges and serrated gripping faces deliver consistent performance for a range of maintenance and assembly tasks.

Advantages

These combination pliers combine a compact form factor with durable materials to support repeated use in electrical, mechanical and general maintenance work. The chrome plating offers corrosion resistance and a smooth finish that simplifies cleaning after use. Hardened cutting edges ensure reliable cutting performance on soft and medium-hard wires, and the serrated jaws improve grip on round and flat components. The 160 mm size balances leverage and accessibility for work in tight spaces.

Suitable for

• Gripping and holding small parts during assembly or repair
• Bending and shaping wire and leads
• Cutting soft and medium-hard electrical or mechanical wire
• Working in confined spaces where a compact tool is required
• General maintenance, installation and repair tasks

Key specifications

• Overall length: 160 mm
• Finish: chrome plated for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning
• Tool type: combination pliers with serrated gripping faces and cutting edges
• Cutting capacity: suitable for soft and medium-hard wire (manufacturer specification: hardened cutting edges)
• Application areas: electrical, mechanical and general maintenance work

How to use

Use the pliers by positioning the serrated jaws on the workpiece for a secure grip, applying controlled hand force to hold or bend components. For cutting, place the wire as close as possible to the hinge to use the leverage of the hardened cutting edges, then squeeze the handles steadily until the wire is severed. For work in tight spaces, orient the pliers so the compact tip reaches the component while keeping a firm grip on the handles. Clean the chrome-plated surface after use and inspect the cutting edges regularly for wear.

Usage recommendations

Do not use the pliers on hardened or tempered steel unless the manufacturer confirms suitability; avoid using as a hammer or pry bar. Store in a dry place to preserve the chrome finish and periodically lubricate the joint to maintain smooth action. Replace the tool if cutting performance degrades or if the jaws are damaged.
