Self-tapping drywall screw Koelner/Rawlplug 3.5x35 mm for metal profiles (single piece)
Self-tapping drywall screw Koelner/Rawlplug 3.5x35 mm for metal profiles is designed to fasten gypsum plasterboards to steel framing. Supplied as a single piece, the 3.5 mm diameter and 35 mm length make it suitable for typical interior drywall applications where a secure connection to metal studs or channels is required. The screw has a thread and tip geometry intended to cut into thin-gauge metal profiles and hold plasterboard panels firmly in place.
This self-tapping screw simplifies installation by eliminating the need for pre-drilling into metal profiles, reducing installation time on standard gauge steel studs. Its dimensions are chosen for common plasterboard thicknesses combined with metal frames, providing reliable pull-out resistance when used as recommended. Supplied individually, it allows for single-screw replacements or small repairs without purchasing a full pack.
This screw is intended for use with thin-gauge metal profiles and interior gypsum boards; it may not perform adequately in heavy structural applications or where loads exceed typical drywall conditions. It is not designed for use in concrete, masonry, or directly into thick structural steel without appropriate pilot holes or anchors.
Place the gypsum board against the metal profile and position the screw at the recommended spacing along the stud. Using a compatible screwdriver or drill with adjustable torque and an appropriate bit, drive the screw through the plasterboard and into the metal profile until the head is slightly recessed below the board surface without tearing the paper face. For best results set torque to avoid overdriving and use correct spacing and edge distances as specified for the plasterboard system.
For consistent results, use a screw gun or drill with adjustable clutch and a depth-limiting attachment where available, adhere to manufacturer spacing guidelines for drywall systems, and replace any damaged screws to maintain a secure and even surface for finishing.
