Expansion anchor Koelner/Rawlplug M5 x 90 mm gravity-type, pack of 2
Koelner/Rawlplug gravity-type expansion anchor M5 x 90 mm, pack of 2 is a mechanical anchoring solution designed for use in solid base materials such as concrete and masonry. The anchor expands when a bolt or threaded rod is tightened, creating radial pressure against the wall of the drilled hole to secure fixtures, brackets and light structural elements. Supplied as two pieces, this M5 anchor is sized for medium-duty connections where a compact, reliable fastener is required.
The gravity-type design ensures consistent expansion and holding force in solid substrates while remaining simple to install. The M5 diameter and 90 mm length provide sufficient embedment depth for common installations, and the pack of two allows placement of paired fixings or a spare fastener for immediate use. The anchor offers a mechanical, non-chemical solution that is suitable for a range of indoor and outdoor applications when used in appropriate base materials.
This anchor is intended for solid base materials; it is not designed for hollow blocks, lightweight aerated concrete without proper sleeve support, or weak crumbly substrates. It is also not intended for heavy structural loads or critical safety applications where higher-grade or specifically tested anchors (chemical anchors, heavy-duty expansion anchors) are required.
Drill a hole of the correct diameter and depth for the anchor into the solid base material, then clean the hole of dust and debris. Insert the expansion anchor into the hole until it is flush or at the required embedment depth. Insert the M5 bolt or threaded rod and tighten to the specified torque to cause the anchor to expand and lock against the hole wall. Follow recommended drilling diameters and tightening torques for the base material and bolt grade to achieve the intended holding performance.
Use a properly sized drill bit and clear the hole of dust before insertion. Tighten bolts gradually and avoid over-torquing; consult manufacturer guidelines or structural specifications for recommended torque values and spacing between anchors to achieve reliable anchoring.
