Deck screw Koelner/Rawlplug M5 x 50/30 ruspert 1000h SST – box 200 pcs
Koelner/Rawlplug deck screw M5 x 50/30 with ruspert 1000h SST coating is a fastening fastener designed for exterior decking and timber applications. Supplied in a box of 200 pieces, this screw combines a metric M5 thread profile with a length suitable for common deck board thicknesses and a specialized ruspert surface treatment that provides enhanced corrosion resistance in outdoor environments. The product is intended for use where a stainless-type surface protection is required but a full stainless-steel fastener is not necessary.
The ruspert 1000h SST coating offers improved protection against rust and corrosion compared with untreated fasteners, extending service life in wet or coastal conditions. The M5 diameter provides good pull-out resistance and stability in soft and hardwood decking materials, while the supplied quantity of 200 pieces supports small to medium installation projects without frequent reordering. The screw design is compatible with common decking installation techniques and provides reliable mechanical fastening for wood and composite boards.
The ruspert-coated M5 screw provides improved corrosion resistance but is not equivalent to marine-grade stainless steel for continuous immersion or extremely corrosive environments. For installations directly in contact with treated timber containing high levels of corrosive chemicals or for locations with constant saltwater exposure, a full stainless-steel fastener may be more appropriate. Also, this screw may not be suitable where concealed or clip-based fastening systems are specified.
Select screws of the correct length to ensure adequate penetration into the joist while avoiding excessive protrusion. Pre-drill pilot holes when working with hardwoods or engineered composites to reduce splitting and to ensure consistent torque. Use a compatible driver bit and a controlled-speed drill or screw gun to drive the screws flush or slightly countersunk, depending on the decking finish desired. Follow manufacturer guidelines for joist spacing and board orientation to achieve secure, long-lasting fixation.
For best results, store the screws in a dry location until installation, use pilot holes for hardwoods and dense composites, and inspect a small number of test fixings to confirm finish and holding before proceeding with the full application.
