Quick-disconnect Koolance QD3 fluid coupling, brass/chrome/stainless steel, black, 19×13 mm
Koolance QD3 fluid coupling is a quick-disconnect female coupling engineered for liquid cooling systems. Constructed from brass, chrome and stainless steel with a black finish, this compact coupling has a 19 mm outside diameter, 13 mm inside diameter and a lightweight 100 g body. The QD3 female straight coupling uses a compression fitting and provides tool-free connection and disconnection while incorporating Koolance's patented no-spill automatic shutoff to limit coolant loss during separation.
The QD3 coupling offers a one-handed, tool-free connection and disconnection designed specifically to mate with Koolance QD3 male counterparts. Its metal construction—brass with chrome and stainless steel components—ensures mechanical strength and corrosion resistance in typical PC water-cooling environments. The patented automatic shutoff minimizes fluid loss on disconnection to approximately 0.2–1 mL under low internal pressure, and the black finish provides a discreet appearance compatible with many system builds.
Install the QD3 female coupling onto the coolant line using the compression fitting according to tubing manufacturer guidelines, ensuring a secure seal. To connect, align the female coupling with a compatible Koolance QD3 male quick-disconnect and push until it clicks into place. To disconnect, pull the ring on the female side; the internal automatic shutoff valves will close and restrict fluid flow so only a small volume of coolant is released. Follow normal system-drain procedures when removing the coupling under pressure and verify connections visually after reassembly.
Use the QD3 coupling only with compatible Koolance QD3 male fittings to ensure proper sealing and valve operation. Avoid disconnecting under high system pressure; internal pressure above approximately 0.5 kgf/cm² (7 psi) can increase the volume of fluid released. Periodically inspect fittings for signs of wear, corrosion, or damaged seals and replace parts if leakage is observed.
