Video Line Amplifier Kramer Electronics VM-4H2
The Kramer Electronics VM-4H2 is a 1:4 HDMI distribution amplifier that accepts a single HDMI 2.0 input and provides four identical HDMI outputs while supporting up to 4K@60Hz (4:4:4) and HDR content. The unit equalizes and reclocks the incoming signal to maintain signal integrity over longer cable runs and complies with the HDCP 2.2 content protection standard. Its compact fan‑less MegaTOOLS™ enclosure and status indicators simplify installation and field maintenance.
The VM-4H2 supports a maximum data rate of 17.82 Gbps (5.94 Gbps per graphic channel) and handles advanced HDMI features including deep color, x.v.Color™, lip sync, 7.1 PCM, Dolby TrueHD, DTS‑HD, 2K, 4K, and 3D. Intelligent EDID handling (use connected display EDID or default EDID, with EDID lock and RGB‑force options) and selectable HDCP authorization provide flexible source/display compatibility. Kramer equalization & re‑Klocking™ technology rebuilds the digital signal for extended transmission distance, while RS‑232 firmware upgrade capability and visible input/output and power indicators ease maintenance.
Connect the HDMI source to the VM-4H2 HDMI input and connect up to four displays to the HDMI outputs. Configure EDID handling to use the connected display EDID or the default EDID, enable EDID lock if required, and set Force RGB when a display lacks YCbCr support. Select HDCP authorization mode to allow protected or non‑protected content delivery as needed. Use the RS‑232 port when a firmware update or remote control is required. Observe the input/output and power indicators to verify correct signal presence and power status.
For optimal long‑distance performance, use quality HDMI cables rated for the required bandwidth and enable Kramer equalization & re‑Klocking™. When mixing protected and personal content, select the appropriate HDCP authorization mode to ensure the desired content is passed or blocked.
