Video Line Amplifier Kramer Electronics VM-2DT
The Kramer Electronics VM-2DT is a compact HDBaseT video line amplifier and distributor that accepts one long‑reach HDBaseT input, equalizes and reclocks the signal, and provides two identical HDBaseT outputs. It supports native HDBaseT transmission of up to 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) video and re‑extension over CAT copper cable, and is housed in a slim, fan‑less enclosure suitable for ceiling or side‑by‑side rack mounting.
The device delivers reliable long‑reach distribution with signal equalization and reclocking to preserve image quality. It is compatible with HDBaseT standards and passes HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 1.4 signals including deep color, x.v.Color™, lip sync, multichannel audio formats and 3D. Intelligent EDID handling (I‑EDIDPro) simplifies plug‑and‑play integration, while LED indicators and a compact, fanless design make installation and maintenance straightforward.
The VM‑2DT is intended for HDBaseT ecosystems and assumes use of compatible HDBaseT receivers or displays; it is not a general Ethernet network device. It supports HDCP 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 feature sets listed, so environments requiring newer HDCP standards or full 4:4:4 4K@60Hz color sampling may need different equipment.
Install the unit near the AV source or mid‑way between a source and remote displays, mount it using the compact enclosure options for over‑ceiling or side‑by‑side rack placement, and connect the source to the HDBaseT input. Use twisted‑pair CAT cabling to connect HDBaseT outputs to compatible receivers or displays. The unit will equalize and reclock the incoming HDBaseT signal and distribute it to the connected outputs; EDID is handled automatically to aid source/display negotiation. Monitor LED indicators to verify link and power status.
For best results, use high‑quality shielded CAT6/CAT6a cables, keep runs within recommended distances for your target resolution, and test EDID handshakes between source and displays during setup. Monitor LED indicators during commissioning to confirm correct links.
