AV transmitter Kramer Electronics DIP-20
The Kramer Electronics DIP-20 is an AV transmitter and Step-in commander that transmits HDMI or VGA video, unbalanced stereo audio and control data over HDBaseT twisted-pair cable. It supports up to 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) resolution and can deliver signals up to 180 meters when paired with a compatible HDBaseT receiver. The unit accepts HDMI and VGA inputs, an Ethernet signal, serial data and an unbalanced stereo audio input that can be embedded into the output stream. The DIP-20 also functions as a PoE (Power over Ethernet) provider to power compatible PoE receivers.
The DIP-20 provides extended-reach 4K transmission over HDBaseT with support for both HDMI and VGA sources, allowing legacy and modern devices to be connected. Its integrated audio embedding and de-embedding simplify signal routing without additional converters. Built-in PoE capability reduces the need for separate power supplies for compatible receivers, and the compact, lightweight housing eases installation into professional AV setups.
Connect an HDMI or VGA source and, if required, the unbalanced stereo audio input and Ethernet/serial control lines to the DIP-20 inputs. Run a single HDBaseT twisted-pair cable from the DIP-20 output to a compatible HDBaseT receiver (for example TP-588D or TP-580RXR). Configure the receiver and display as needed and ensure the receiver supports 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) if using that resolution. If the receiver is PoE-capable, the DIP-20 can provide power over the same ethernet cable, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter at the receiver end.
For reliable 4K transmission, use high-quality shielded twisted-pair cable and keep connectors clean. Verify compatibility between the DIP-20 and the chosen HDBaseT receiver for supported resolutions and PoE functionality before installation.
