HDMI Switcher Kramer Electronics VS-211X
The Kramer Electronics VS-211X is a compact 2x1 automatic HDMI switcher designed for 4K HDR video signals and professional AV installations. It supports HDMI 2.0 features including HDCP 2.3, deep color, x.v.Color™, 3D, Dolby TrueHD and DTS‑HD, and can handle video modes up to 2160p. The unit provides priority or last‑connected automatic switching based on active signal detection, with manual override via a front‑panel button. The metal DigiTOOLS® fan‑less enclosure and small footprint allow table placement or side‑by‑side mounting of three units in 1U rack space with the recommended adapter.
The VS‑211X offers reliable plug & play operation through Kramer’s I‑EDIDPro™ intelligent EDID processing for automatic compatibility between sources and displays. It supports multi‑channel audio up to 32 channels and de‑embeds digital audio to an analog stereo output for local speaker use. Local buttons and remote contact‑closure inputs provide flexible switching control, while status LEDs and local firmware upgrade support simplify maintenance and troubleshooting. The device is HDCP 2.3 compliant and built from durable aluminum with low power consumption.
Connect up to two HDMI source devices to the input ports and connect the HDMI output to the display. Configure the preferred switching mode (priority or last‑connected) using the device settings; the switcher will then automatically select the active source according to the chosen scheme. Manual switching is available via the front‑panel button or via externally connected contact‑closure buttons, which temporarily override automatic switching. If required, use the local firmware upgrade option for updates and troubleshooting indicated by the status LEDs.
For best results, verify source and display EDID settings after installation and allow the unit to complete HDCP handshakes before testing audio or video. Use the analog de‑embedded output for local monitoring while routing full digital audio to the HDMI display or AV receiver.
