AV receiver Kramer Electronics TP-580RXR
The TP-580RXR is an extended-range HDBaseT twisted-pair receiver that converts incoming HDBaseT signals back into HDMI video and audio, bidirectional RS-232 and IR control signals. Designed for AV distribution systems, it supports HDTV formats, 3D pass-through, HDCP compliance and EDID pass-through, and is intended to work with a compatible TP-580TXR transmitter and suitable Cat6a cabling for long-range links.
The unit supports a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps (3.4 Gbps per graphic channel), delivers 2K and 4K compatibility, and carries uncompressed HDMI audio formats including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. Bidirectional RS-232 and IR enable remote control and status communication in both directions. Status LEDs provide clear indication of input, output, link and power conditions. Its compact DigiTOOLS form factor allows three units to fit side-by-side in 1U with the optional RK-3T rack adapter.
Install the TP-580RXR near the display and connect the HDBaseT twisted-pair input to the TP-580TXR transmitter using appropriate Cat6/6a cable, preferably Kramer BC-HDKat6a for maximum range. Connect the HDMI output to the display, and attach RS-232 or IR control lines as required for remote control. Power the unit with the specified 12 V AC input and verify status LEDs for proper link and power. EDID is passed through by default to allow the source to detect display capabilities.
For reliable long-distance performance and to achieve the specified maximum ranges, use Kramer BC-HDKat6a cable and verify that source and display resolutions match the intended transmission mode; transmission distance can vary with resolution, cable quality and connected equipment.
