Cast Iron Roasting Pan with Grill Lid KRISBERG KS-7740, 6.4 L, 34 cm
The KRISBERG KS-7740 cast iron roasting pan with grill lid is a 2-in-1 cookware piece combining a deep roasting pan and a detachable grill-style lid. With a 6.4 L capacity and 34 cm diameter, this enameled cast iron pan is designed for use on both oven and stovetop. Its heavy-duty construction provides even heat retention and gradual heat distribution, suitable for roasting, braising, baking and grilling in one versatile item.
The enameled cast iron body offers strong heat retention and resistance to thermal shock, reducing hot spots during cooking. The detachable grill lid doubles as a shallow grill pan with raised ridges to create grill marks and allow fat to drain, while the deep base accommodates larger roasts, stews or casseroles. The enamel finish simplifies cleaning and prevents direct contact between food and bare cast iron, and the sturdy handles allow secure handling when transferring between stovetop and oven.
This cast iron roasting pan is heavy compared with lighter materials and may be inconvenient for users who prefer ultra-light cookware or have limited strength when handling hot cookware. While the enamel coating reduces maintenance compared with raw cast iron, abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads should be avoided to protect the finish.
Preheat the oven or heat the stovetop as required for the recipe. Use the deep base for roasting, braising or baking; place meat or vegetables in the base and cover with the detachable grill lid if required to retain moisture. For searing or grill marks, use the grill lid separately on the stovetop or as the upper surface while roasting. Use oven mitts or thick cloths to handle the pan, as the cast iron and handles retain heat. After use, allow the pan to cool before washing with warm water and a soft sponge; dry thoroughly to avoid moisture retention.
For best results, preheat gradually and avoid sudden temperature changes. Use moderate heat on stovetop to preserve the enamel; finish roasts in the oven if required. Clean with warm water and non-abrasive sponge; dry completely before storing. Use silicone or wooden utensils to minimize enamel wear.
