Spur Drill Bit KWB 511907 7mm Brad Point
FCE spiral drill for wood with a 7 mm diameter, industrial-quality HSS-M2 steel and precision-ground flutes. The bit has a cylindrical shank, uncoated finish and a TwinLand® groove design combined with a patented centring brad point and two taper taps to produce clean bore holes without ripping. Designed especially for hard decking woods such as bangkirai and Douglas fir, it is also suitable for general woodworking and for materials such as softwood, chipboard, gypsum plasterboard and plastic. Supplied in a blister pack for convenient storage.
The brad point (centring tip) and precision-ground flutes give accurate starts and clean edges with minimal splintering. HSS-M2 material and industrial-quality manufacturing provide good wear resistance for repeated use in hardwoods. The TwinLand® groove and taper taps evacuate chips efficiently to reduce heat and jamming, producing smoother holes in dense timber. Cylindrical shank fits standard chucks and the uncoated finish maintains consistent cutting behaviour.
Mark the drilling position and secure the workpiece. Use a suitable drill or cordless driver with a chuck that accepts a 7 mm cylindrical shank. Start drilling at low speed to allow the brad point to locate accurately, then increase speed while applying steady pressure. Withdraw the bit periodically for deep holes to clear chips and avoid overheating. For plastics or thin panels, reduce speed to prevent melting or tearing.
For best results in hardwood decking, use a drill with sufficient torque, maintain steady feed pressure, and keep the bit sharp. When drilling multiple holes, allow the bit to cool between holes if it becomes hot. Store in the original blister to protect the point and flutes.
