Fan controller Lamptron LP801 with display — Lamptron LP801 fan controller
The Lamptron LP801 is a compact fan controller with an integrated front display that provides real-time monitoring and manual adjustment of PC fan speeds. Intended for desktop systems, the unit mounts in a 5.25" drive bay and connects to multiple fans to centralize cooling control. The display shows current RPM values and allows precise regulation of fan performance to balance airflow and acoustic levels.
The LP801 combines a clear front display with manual fan speed control, enabling direct adjustments without relying on motherboard software. Its compact form factor fits standard drive bays and helps organize multiple fan connections in a single accessible location. Real-time RPM readouts allow users to identify fan behaviour quickly, while manual knobs or controls provide immediate response for optimizing noise versus cooling. The device is designed for compatibility with typical 3-pin and 4-pin PC fans and for easy installation in desktop chassis.
Install the Lamptron LP801 into a free 5.25" drive bay and secure it according to your chassis instructions. Connect the case fans to the controller's fan headers, observing connector types and orientations. Power the unit from the system power connector provided and power on the PC. Use the front display to read each fan's RPM and adjust speeds using the corresponding control knobs or buttons until the desired balance between airflow and noise is achieved. Monitor RPM readings periodically to confirm stable operation.
For stable readings and control, connect each fan to its dedicated channel and avoid using splitters when possible. When configuring speeds, start at a moderate setting and lower or raise RPM in small increments while checking temperatures to maintain safe component operating ranges. If your fans are PWM-capable, verify connector compatibility to ensure expected control behaviour. Regularly inspect connectors and cabling for secure contacts.
