Lenovo 512GB M.2 2242 PCIe G4 x4 SSD (model 5SS1M36930N) is an internal solid-state drive in the compact M.2 2242 form factor that uses a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface. With 512 gigabytes of NAND storage and a Gen4-compatible controller, this drive is intended for use as primary or secondary storage in compatible laptops and small form-factor desktops. It provides faster boot times, quicker application launches and improved file transfer rates compared with SATA-based drives, while fitting systems that require the shorter 2242 module length.
This Lenovo SSD combines a compact M.2 2242 size with a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface to deliver higher sequential and random throughput than SATA drives. The 512GB capacity offers a balance between storage space and cost for operating system installation, application libraries and user data. The drive’s low-latency flash storage improves responsiveness for everyday tasks, and its solid-state design reduces mechanical failure points compared with hard disk drives.

For sustained performance and longevity, ensure firmware is kept up to date and enable appropriate power and thermal management in the host system. Use the drive as the operating system volume for best responsiveness, and maintain regular backups of important data to external storage or cloud services.
