The LevelOne WAC-2010 is a Gigabit Ethernet Wireless LAN Controller for small to medium networks such as SMEs, schools, guesthouses, hotels and apartments. It centrally manages up to 128 access points and combines controller functions with gateway and firewall capabilities to provide secure and manageable wireless service.

Advantages

The WAC-2010 provides centralized management of AP configurations, tag-based VLAN settings and AP firmware updates. It offers monitoring of connected APs and users, real-time control of signal strength and interference, and automatic regulation of output power, RF coverage and channel allocation to optimize coverage, roaming and throughput. The unit includes one Gigabit WAN and four Gigabit LAN ports, a robust metal enclosure and LED indicators for activity, link and power.

How to use

Install the WAC-2010 in a secure rack or shelf location and connect the WAN port to your Internet gateway. Connect local switches or network segments to the four LAN ports. Power the unit with the supplied power cord. Use the controller web interface or management tools to add and configure access points, apply VLAN tags, schedule firmware updates and monitor client connections. Configure firewall and gateway settings as required for your network security policy.

Usage recommendations

For optimal wireless performance, deploy access points according to a site survey or standard placement guidelines, enable the WAC-2010 real-time RF management features, and keep AP firmware updated.
