The Lindy 4K30 HDMI and USB over IP System Controller (MPN 38395) is a compact network controller designed to manage distributed AV and KVM installations. It coordinates Encoder and Decoder modules within the Lindy 4K30 system to route one or multiple HDMI sources to one or multiple displays over a 1G network. The controller supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 and offers dual network ports to separate network control and multicast video distribution; PoE-enabled gigabit connectivity allows installation without a separate PSU.

How to use

Connect the Controller to a managed 1G Ethernet switch using Cat6 cables; use one network port for control traffic and the other for multicast video distribution. Add Encoder modules (one per HDMI source) and Decoder modules (one per display) to the same network. Use the Web GUI, TCP commands or RS-232/IR/GPIO interfaces to configure source-to-display routing, KVM permissions and multicast distribution parameters. If PoE is available on the switch, power the Controller via PoE; otherwise provide a 12 V DC power source as specified.

Usage recommendations

For stable 4K30 performance, use a managed gigabit switch with IGMP snooping enabled, high-quality Cat6 cabling, and ensure Encoders, Decoders and the Controller are on the same VLAN or routed network segment to minimise latency and packet loss.
