Speaker cable LP SMYp 2 x 1 mm black 100 m
LP SMYp speaker cable 2 x 1 mm in black on a 100 m spool is intended for connecting loudspeakers and audio devices in home and commercial audio installations. The twin-core conductor with 1 mm2 cross-section per core and flexible PVC insulation is designed for low-voltage audio signals and offers a straightforward solution for stereo, multiroom systems, wall routing and long speaker runs where reliable conduction and easy handling are required.
This speaker cable combines a compact 2 x 1 mm cross-section with flexible PVC insulation to simplify installation in cavities, conduits and along skirting boards. The 100 m spool format reduces the need for multiple joins on longer runs and supports continuous routing of left and right channels or multiple speaker zones. The black outer colour provides a discreet finish for visible runs and the twin-core design keeps polarity identification and wiring neat.
This cable is specified for low-voltage audio signals and may not be appropriate for installations requiring higher current capacity or professional heavy-duty speaker systems that demand larger conductor cross-sections. It is not designed as a mains power cable or for outdoor exposure unless additional protective measures are taken; prolonged or direct outdoor exposure can degrade PVC insulation.
Route the LP SMYp speaker cable from the amplifier or receiver to each speaker, maintaining correct polarity throughout the run. Strip the insulation carefully to expose the conductors, avoiding nicking the copper. Terminate the conductors using appropriate connectors (banana plugs, spade lugs, or screw terminals) or by secure soldering, depending on the equipment. For long runs, ensure solid connections at both ends and avoid tight bends or kinks that could damage the conductor or insulation. If running inside walls, follow local building codes and, where required, use in-wall rated conduit or additional protective sheathing.
For reliable audio performance, keep speaker runs as short as practical and maintain correct polarity. Use secure terminations and avoid sharp bends; if routing through walls, comply with local regulations and consider protective conduit. For higher-power systems or very long runs, evaluate using larger cross-section cable to reduce loss.
