Motion and dusk sensor MACLEAN MCE295 — 180° + 360° coverage, 2000W, black
MACLEAN MCE295 is a combined motion and dusk sensor designed for automatic control of lighting circuits. The sensor detects movement and measures ambient light to switch lights on or off according to preset thresholds. It offers selectable detection coverage of 180° or 360° and supports switching loads up to 2000W, making it suitable for a range of residential and light-commercial outdoor and indoor locations. The unit is supplied in black and is intended for installation where presence-activated and dusk-sensitive lighting is required.
The device combines motion detection and light-level sensing in a single compact unit, reducing the need for separate controllers. With two selectable coverage modes — a wide 360° pattern and a focused 180° pattern — it adapts to different mounting positions and detection requirements. The high switching capacity allows control of substantial lighting loads, while the dusk detection feature prevents lights from activating during daylight. The black finish provides a discreet appearance on darker surfaces and exterior facades.
Install the sensor according to the mounting instructions, ensuring the detection zone covers the required area and the unit is securely fixed at the recommended height. Connect the sensor inline with the lighting circuit so that the sensor’s switched output controls the load. Set the detection angle to 180° for directional coverage or 360° for all-around detection, and adjust any available light-level or time-delay settings if provided by the model. Verify correct operation by walking through the detection zone and observing automatic switching under different ambient light conditions.
Position the sensor to avoid direct exposure to strong reflective light sources or heat emitters that could affect PIR sensitivity. For reliable dusk detection, test and adjust the light-level threshold during typical evening conditions. Use the 180° mode for corridor-like or entryway installations and 360° mode for central mounting where surrounding coverage is required.
