Maclean MCTV-947 Active Multidirectional DVB-T2 HEVC Aerial with 32 dB Gain and Type F Connector for Camper, Caravan, Yacht, and Home Use

The Maclean MCTV-947 Camper Active Multidirectional DVB-T2 HEVC Aerial is a universal antenna designed for receiving analogue and digital television programs, including DVB-T, DVB-T2, and H.265 HEVC standards. Featuring a compact and lightweight build, this antenna is highly versatile and suitable for installation in various locations such as roofs, balconies, and windows, as well as on mobile objects like yachts, campers, caravans, trucks, and cabins. Its hermetic housing ensures reliable operation in all climatic conditions.

Advantages

The main advantage of this active multidirectional antenna is its 360-degree horizontal directional characteristic, which means it does not need to be manually pointed directly at the TV transmitter. The built-in amplifier provides an energy gain of 20 to 33 dB, reaching up to 44 dB, to deliver a clear and stable signal. Additionally, the weatherproof sealed casing protects internal components from rain, wind, and other adverse weather conditions, ensuring long-lasting durability.

Suitable for

• Receiving terrestrial digital TV broadcasts on DVB-T and DVB-T2 standards
• Installation on mobile vehicles such as campers, caravans, trucks, and yachts
• Stationary use on home balconies, roofs, windows, and cabins
• Connecting to single or multiple TV receivers using compatible passive signal splitters

When it may not be suitable

This antenna may not provide optimal signal reception in areas with extremely dense physical obstructions, very deep valleys, or locations situated at a massive distance from the nearest broadcast transmitter where high-gain directional array antennas are strictly required. It is also not designed for satellite television reception.

Key specifications

• Frequency range: 174-230 MHz and 470-790 MHz
• Energy gain: 20-33 dB, maximum 44 dB
• Impedance output: 75 ohms
• Orientation: 360 degrees omnidirectional
• Polarization: Horizontal
• Power supply options: USB 5V or 12V via cigarette lighter plug

How to use

Begin by assembling the antenna using the included boom, stand, and mast holder depending on your mounting location. Secure the unit firmly to your chosen surface, such as a vehicle roof, caravan exterior, or balcony railing. Connect the provided 75-ohm coaxial cable with the signal separator from the antenna to your TV receiver or set-top box. Power the built-in amplifier by connecting the USB cable to a 5V source or using the 12V cigarette lighter plug in your vehicle. Finally, run a channel scan on your television to find available digital and analogue programs.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your local broadcasting area falls within the supported VHF and UHF frequency ranges
• Check the available power sources in your setup to ensure compatibility with USB 5V or 12V options
• Ensure you have a clear mounting spot available on your vehicle, balcony, or roof

Always route the coaxial cable carefully to avoid sharp bends or pinching, and ensure all outdoor connections are properly protected from moisture to maintain optimal signal quality.
