The MANNOL 9916 Transparent Silicone Sealant is a high-performance adhesive and sealing solution engineered for versatility in both automotive and household environments. This single-component silicone compound cures at room temperature to form a robust, permanently elastic, and moisture-resistant seal. Its transparent finish ensures a clean and professional appearance, making it suitable for applications where aesthetics are as important as structural integrity.
Advantages
This sealant offers exceptional adhesion properties across a wide range of materials, including glass, metal, and various plastics. Its chemical composition provides excellent resistance to extreme temperatures, vibrations, and environmental exposure, ensuring that seals remain intact over extended periods. The flexibility of the cured material prevents cracking or shrinking, maintaining a reliable barrier against water, dust, and air infiltration.
Suitable for
- Sealing automotive windows and sunroofs
- Repairing household glass and mirror fixtures
- Bonding decorative plastic elements
- Sealing joints in metal housings or enclosures
- General maintenance and gap filling in DIY projects
When it may not be suitable
This product is not intended for use in applications involving continuous contact with fuel or high-pressure engine oil. It should not be used on surfaces that require painting, as the silicone surface will repel most standard paints and coatings.
Key specifications
- Volume: 85 ml
- Color: Transparent
- Curing type: Room temperature vulcanizing
- Material compatibility: Glass, metal, plastic
- Resistance: Moisture, vibration, and temperature fluctuations
How to use
Before application, ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, or dust. Apply the sealant evenly along the joint or gap using a steady pressure. For best results, smooth the bead with a spatula or a gloved finger dipped in soapy water within a few minutes of application. Allow the sealant to cure fully according to the environmental conditions before subjecting the joint to mechanical stress or moisture.
What to consider before purchase
- Verify that the surface material is compatible with silicone-based adhesives.
- Ensure the 85 ml volume is sufficient for the intended length of the seal.
- Consider the curing time required for your specific project environment.
Usage recommendations
For optimal adhesion and longevity, store the tube in a cool, dry place and ensure the cap is tightly sealed after each use to prevent premature curing inside the nozzle.
