IR Control 10 XTRA Marmitek 08140
The Marmitek IR Control 10 XTRA (model 08140) is an infrared extender kit designed to let you control AV equipment placed inside TV furniture or in a cabinet from a distance using your existing remote control. The set extends infrared signals up to 300 metres over UTP cable and can be installed mostly out of sight, with only a small infrared receiver needing line of sight to the remote. The kit includes an infrared receiver, a central module and two transmitters (blaster/emitters) and is compatible with a wide range of brands and newer infrared code formats used in many HD devices and digital decoders.
This professional set operates an unlimited number of AV devices located inside cabinets or TV furniture while using your current remote control. Except for the small infrared receiver, the components can be concealed out of sight. It features an infrared blaster function to control multiple devices directly without needing to find the infrared eyes on each device, and is compatible with virtually all brands and recent IR code formats such as RC-MM. Advanced filtering makes it suitable for use near flat-screen TVs (LCD, LED) and in environments with indirect sunlight.
Place the small infrared receiver where it has a clear line of sight to your remote control and connect it to the central module. Install the module inside the cabinet or furniture where your devices are located. Connect the transmitter(s) to the module and position the blaster/emitters near the front panels or infrared windows of the AV equipment. The remote’s IR signal is received by the receiver, sent via the module over UTP cable to the transmitter, which then emits the infrared commands to the devices. Use standard UTP cabling between receiver and module as required to reach the desired distance.
For reliable operation, keep the tiny infrared receiver unobstructed and avoid placing the blaster LEDs behind metal surfaces. Use good-quality UTP cable for long runs and ensure correct placement of emitters near the infrared windows of each device. The system is designed to be used with existing remote controls and supports new IR code formats; no additional programming is normally required.
