Heatsink/Radiator MATROX IB-M2HS-701 for M.2 NVMe SSD, 21×70×5 mm, Black
MATROX IB-M2HS-701 is a low-profile heatsink designed for M.2 NVMe SSD modules. With compact dimensions of 21×70×5 mm and a black finish, it offers passive thermal dissipation to help maintain lower operating temperatures for high-performance SSDs. The slim form factor is suitable for both standard desktop motherboards and compact systems where space above the M.2 slot is limited.
The heatsink provides improved thermal stability by increasing the surface area available for heat transfer from the SSD controller and NAND chips. Its low-profile design minimizes interference with adjacent components and expansion cards, while the black finish supports compatibility with various system aesthetics. Because it uses passive cooling, it operates silently and requires no additional power or moving parts.
To install, align the heatsink with the M.2 NVMe SSD so that it covers the controller and memory chips without obstructing the mounting screw or motherboard components. Remove any protective film from the thermal interface if present, then press the heatsink gently onto the SSD to ensure contact. Secure the M.2 module to the motherboard using the standard standoff and screw. Verify there is sufficient clearance in the system chassis and that the heatsink does not interfere with other components.
For optimal thermal transfer, use the heatsink in combination with a thin thermal pad if the SSD surface is uneven or if additional contact is required between the SSD and the heatsink. Check motherboard layout and case clearance before installation. Periodically inspect the contact area and clean dust buildup in the surrounding area to maintain effective passive cooling.
