Power adapter MEAN WELL MPM-45-12ST, indoor 45 W, input 80–264 V, black, 12 V output
MEAN WELL MPM-45-12ST is a compact indoor AC/DC PCB-mount medical-grade power adapter that delivers 45 W of output power at 12 V DC. The unit accepts a universal input voltage from 80 to 264 VAC and is designed for applications that require a small-size, high-density power source with medical safety standards including IEC EN 60601-1 and ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 (version 3) compliance, 2 x MOPP protection and ultra-low leakage current. The adapter offers high efficiency up to 92.5%, very low no-load consumption (<0.1 W), 4 kVAC isolation and robust EMC performance.
The MPM-45-12ST combines compact dimensions and high power density (87 x 52 x 29.5 mm nominal PCB-mount size) to save space in equipment designs. It achieves high conversion efficiency (up to 92.5%) and keeps standby power consumption below 0.1 W. Built to medical-grade standards with double insulation (Class II, no FG), 4 kVAC isolation and 2 x MOPP, it provides reliable safety and low leakage for medical and sensitive electronic applications. Additional features include wide input range (80–264 VAC), good thermal dissipation and enhanced vibration resistance.
Integrate the MPM-45-12ST onto the target PCB or mounting arrangement following the manufacturer’s mechanical and footprint recommendations. Connect the AC input to an appropriate mains connector rated for the stated input range (80–264 VAC) and route the 12 V DC output to the load using suitable wiring and polarity. Ensure adequate ventilation and thermal management around the module and observe isolation and creepage distances required for medical-grade installations. Follow local wiring regulations and the device safety instructions when installing into equipment.
Use the adapter in indoor, dry environments and avoid exposing it to excessive vibration beyond the specified 2–5G rating. For medical installations, verify compliance with system-level safety requirements and maintain proper grounding and separation as required by IEC/ANSI standards.
