MEAN WELL SCWN06A-12 is a compact DC-DC regulated single output converter delivering 12 V DC at up to 0.5 A (6 W) from a 9–18 V DC input. This through-hole DIP package is designed for embedded systems, low-power electronics and industrial control applications where a small, isolated and reliable 12 V rail is required. The module provides regulated output voltage, 3000 VDC input-to-output isolation and meets RoHS sustainability requirements. It is supplied in bulk packs for manufacturing and system integration.
The SCWN06A-12 offers galvanic isolation up to 3000 VDC which enhances safety and noise immunity between input and output. Its regulated output ensures stable 12 V supply under varying input conditions within the specified 9–18 V range. Install the SCWN06A-12 into the PCB using standard through-hole soldering practices, ensuring correct pin orientation. Observe basic isolation and creepage distance requirements when routing high-voltage or noisy signals near the module. Allow for adequate ventilation or thermal design in enclosed assemblies to maintain reliable operation.
For stable operation, keep output current within the rated 0.5 A and avoid sustained operation at maximum limits without considering ambient temperature and airflow. Use appropriate input filtering and transient suppression on the supply line if the converter will be exposed to noisy or inductive loads.
