The MEAN WELL SKMW20F-12 is a compact DC-DC converter module designed for PCB mounting. It accepts a wide input range of 9–36 VDC and provides a regulated single output of 12 VDC at up to 1.67 A (20 W). The module is supplied in a 1" x 1" DIP through-hole package with a remote ON/OFF function and is RoHS compliant. It is lightweight (approximately 18 g) and intended for integration into electronic assemblies where a small, reliable 12 V rail is required.
The SKMW20F-12 offers a wide input voltage range suitable for varied battery and vehicle electrical systems, a compact 1" x 1" footprint that saves PCB space, and through-hole DIP packaging for straightforward soldering and mechanical stability. Mount the SKMW20F-12 into the PCB using the specified through-hole footprint and solder all pins according to the manufacturer’s board layout. Connect an input supply within 9–36 V DC to the input pins, and take the regulated 12 V DC output from the output pins. Use the remote ON/OFF pin to enable or disable the output remotely according to the device wiring instructions. Observe proper input polarity and provide adequate board-level decoupling and grounding as recommended in typical application circuits.
Use this module on PCBs with adequate copper area for heat dissipation, follow MEAN WELL application notes for input filtering and layout, and ensure the input source can supply peak startup currents. Do not exceed the 1.67 A output rating and verify thermal conditions in enclosureed or high-ambient-temperature environments.
