Mandoline slicer Microplane V‑Slicer Julienne model 48940 — julienne blades for vegetable strips

Microplane V‑Slicer Julienne model 48940 is a handheld mandoline designed to produce consistent julienne vegetable strips. The tool uses V‑shaped julienne blades that slice carrots, cucumbers, zucchini and similar produce into uniform thin sticks quickly and with minimal effort. Its compact form is intended for countertop or drawer storage and for use during meal preparation, salad assembly and garnish creation.

Advantages

The V‑shaped julienne blades create evenly sized strips for consistent cook times and professional presentation. The handheld design provides direct control over pressure and movement, enabling faster preparation than a knife for repetitive tasks. The unit’s blade geometry and blade placement are engineered to reduce twisting and tearing of delicate vegetables, producing clean cuts that maintain texture. The compact size and simple construction make it easy to clean and store.

Suitable for

• Preparing julienne carrots, cucumbers and zucchini for salads and slaws
• Creating uniform vegetable strips for stir‑fries and sautés
• Making garnishes and decorative vegetable accents
• Quick meal prep when consistent cut size is required

Key specifications

• Handheld mandoline style: compact, handheld V‑slicer

How to use

Hold the Microplane V‑Slicer Julienne with a secure grip on the handle and position the vegetable against the julienne blades. Apply steady, even pressure and slide the vegetable along the blade surface to produce uniform strips. Use short, controlled strokes for small or round vegetables; for longer items, slice along the length to maintain consistent strip length. Take care to keep fingers clear of the blades and use a guard or appropriate hand protection if available. After use, rinse or wash according to care instructions to remove residue and dry thoroughly before storage.

Usage recommendations

Use firm, fresh vegetables for best results; overly soft or overly hard produce may affect strip uniformity. Clean blades promptly after use to prevent buildup and inspect the blade edges periodically for any signs of wear. Store in a dry place and avoid impacts that could misalign the blade assembly.
