Film/slide scanner Microtek ArtixScan 3200XL — 3200 x 6400 DPI, A3 (304.8 x 429.26 mm), CCD, RGB LED, USB 2.0
The Microtek ArtixScan 3200XL is a professional film and slide scanner designed for prepress and high-precision digitization tasks. It features a CCD sensor with optical resolution up to 3200 x 6400 dpi, a tri-wavelength RGB LED light source, an A3-size flat scan bed (304.8 x 429.26 mm) and a dust-reducing housing. The scanner supports film and transparency scanning with a TMA holder for 35mm slides, 35mm strips, 4" x 5" film and medium-format up to 6 x 22 cm, and provides 48-bit colour depth and common output formats such as BMP, JPG and PDF.
The tri-wavelength LED provides a wider NTSC range for improved color performance compared with single- or dual-wavelength sources. High-precision rescan capability allows accurate alignment for CMYK combining with coordinate variation ≤3 pixels at 1200 dpi. The flat, absolute-level scan bed prevents marks on originals, while the dust-free housing and built-in DIGITAL ICE and ColoRescue technologies reduce surface defects and restore faded colors. A one-touch scan button speeds capture, and ScanWizard Pro supports LAN sharing so multiple computers can access a single connected scanner.
Install the scanner and driver software (ScanWizard Pro) on a compatible computer and connect via USB 2.0 or configure network sharing through the intranet function. Place the film, slide or document on the flat scan bed or into the TMA film holder according to the template for the chosen film size. Use the one-touch button for quick captures or start scans from the software to select resolution, color depth and output format (BMP, JPG, PDF, etc.). For rescan jobs requiring precise alignment, use the software alignment tools and set the resolution to 1200 dpi or higher to benefit from the stated ≤3 pixel variation.
For best results, clean film and the scan bed before scanning, use the appropriate TMA template for film size, enable DIGITAL ICE for surface defect removal on negatives and positives, and use ColoRescue when restoring faded colors. When performing multi-user or high-volume work, enable ScanWizard Pro networking so the connected scanner can be shared across the intranet.
