Mechanical TKL gaming keyboard Montech MKey TKL Darkness with Gateron G Pro 2.0 Yellow switches (US layout)

The Montech MKey TKL Darkness is a tenkeyless mechanical gaming keyboard in a compact form factor with a US layout. It features Gateron G Pro 2.0 Yellow linear switches that provide low-resistance key travel for fast, consistent actuation. The absence of a numeric keypad reduces the keyboard footprint to free up desk space for mouse movement and a cleaner setup. The keyboard is designed for users who prioritize responsive keypresses, straightforward mechanical feel, and durable construction suitable for extended gaming and typing sessions.

Advantages

Gateron G Pro 2.0 Yellow switches deliver smooth linear keystrokes with a light actuation force, enabling rapid input and minimal tactile interruption. The tenkeyless design improves ergonomics for gaming by allowing a more natural mouse position and more desk room. Built with mechanical switch durability and a solid case, the keyboard supports frequent, intense use while maintaining consistent performance. The US layout ensures compatibility with standard gaming keycaps and common shortcuts.

How to use

Connect the Montech MKey TKL Darkness to a computer using the provided cable or supported connection method. Position the keyboard centrally or offset to the left to create adequate mouse space, taking advantage of the tenkeyless form factor. Use the keys normally for gaming or typing; the linear Gateron Yellow switches respond to light presses and do not provide tactile bumps. For best results, ensure your operating system input layout is set to US ANSI to match the physical keycaps and legends.

Usage recommendations

For gaming, pair the keyboard with a low-DPI mouse and keep the keyboard shifted slightly left to maximize mouse travel distance. For prolonged typing sessions, consider a wrist rest and maintain a comfortable typing angle. Keep keycaps and switch housings clean to preserve switch performance and longevity.
