Air cooler Montech Metal DT24 Premium 12 cm 800-1950 RPM Black
The Montech Metal DT24 Premium 12 cm is a dual-tower air cooler designed to deliver high cooling capacity for desktop processors. Configured with two METAL 120 PWM fans running between 800 and 1950 RPM and a six 6 mm heat-pipe layout, the cooler offers an advertised Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 270 W and a combined heat dissipation surface area of 8553.23 cm². Hydro Dynamic Bearing (HDB) fans, a strengthened metal axial hub and optimized fin spacing provide airflow with a maximum static pressure of 2.82 mmH2O while maintaining low noise levels. The cooler comes in black, weighs 1.6 kg and supports a wide range of sockets including LGA 1700, LGA 1200 (Socket H5), AM4 and AM5.
The dual-tower design with six copper heat pipes and two high-density 120 mm PWM fans increases the available fin surface and airflow, improving heat transfer from CPU to fins. Hydro Dynamic Bearing technology and a 6-pole motor reduce operational noise and extend fan life. The cooler’s fin cutouts provide RAM compatibility with tall memory modules, and an ARGB anodized aluminum top cover adds visual integration with systems that support addressable RGB lighting. All-metal mounting brackets improve durability and simplify installation compared with plastic retention solutions.
Install the Montech Metal DT24 Premium following the included instructions for your specific CPU socket. Use the supplied all-metal mounting brackets and secure the cooler to the motherboard with the recommended torque pattern to ensure even contact between the base and CPU integrated heat spreader. Connect the two 4-pin PWM fan headers to the motherboard fan headers or a supported fan hub for speed and ARGB control, and enable PWM control in BIOS or via software to allow automatic fan speed scaling based on CPU temperature. Verify memory clearance before final mounting if your build uses tall RAM modules.
For optimal performance, apply a thin, even layer of high-quality thermal paste and ensure the case has adequate intake and exhaust airflow. Configure PWM curves to balance noise and cooling according to workload; for sustained heavy loads consider a more aggressive fan profile while prioritizing quieter profiles for normal desktop use. Periodically check and clean dust from fins and fans to maintain airflow efficiency.
