Product information

Description

The MSI B550 GAMING WIFI is an ATX motherboard based on the AMD B550 chipset, designed for Socket AM4 processors. It supports AMD Ryzen 5000, 5000 G-Series, 4000 G-Series and 3000 Series CPUs, up to 128 GB DDR4 memory across four DIMM slots, SATA III HDD/SSD storage, gigabit Ethernet and Wi‑Fi 5 connectivity. The board includes PCIe 4.0 support for high-bandwidth graphics and storage, reinforced steel PCIe slots, extended heatsinks, M.2 Shield Frozr and an optimized PCB for improved transfer speeds and reliability.

Advantages

The motherboard provides a robust 10+2+1 Duet Rail power design with an 8‑pin CPU power connector and MOSFET thermal pads to sustain heavy loads and overclocking. Integrated Wi‑Fi 5 and 1G LAN deliver stable network performance, while Lightning Gen 4 PCIe and Lightning Gen 4 x4 M.2 enable fast gaming and storage responsiveness. Practical features such as the EZ M.2 clip, enlarged PCIe clip for one‑finger GPU installation and Clear CMOS button simplify installation and troubleshooting. Audio connectors use an isolated analog structure for improved sound clarity, and Mystic Light plus an RGB header allow system lighting control and extension.

Suitable for

  • Gaming PCs using AMD Ryzen Socket AM4 processors
  • High-performance single‑GPU systems with PCIe 4.0 devices
  • Content creation and multitasking with up to 128 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Systems requiring onboard Wi‑Fi 5 and gigabit Ethernet

Key specifications

  • Chipset: AMD B550 (ATX)
  • CPU support: AMD Ryzen 5000 / 5000 G‑Series / 4000 G‑Series / 3000 Series (Socket AM4)
  • Memory: DDR4‑SDRAM, 4 DIMM slots, up to 128 GB, up to 4400(OC) MHz
  • Power delivery: 10+2+1 Duet Rail Power System (55A DrMOS), 8‑pin CPU power
  • Expansion: PCIe 4.0 x16 (reinforced Steel Armor), additional PCIe slots
  • Storage: Lightning Gen 4 x4 M.2, M.2 Shield Frozr, SATA III
  • Network: Gigabit Ethernet (Realtek controller), Wi‑Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.0
  • Audio: Realtek ALC897, 7.1 channels (Isolated analog structure)
  • Form factor: ATX; BIOS: UEFI AMI 256 Mbit; ACPI version 6.0; Clear CMOS jumper/button

How to use

Install the MSI B550 GAMING WIFI into a compatible ATX case and connect the 8‑pin CPU power cable and 24‑pin ATX power connector from your PSU. Fit an AM4‑compatible Ryzen processor and the appropriate CPU cooler, populate DDR4 DIMM slots according to the manual for dual‑channel operation, and mount M.2 SSD(s) using the EZ M.2 clip and M.2 Shield Frozr for thermal protection. Insert the graphics card into the reinforced PCIe x16 slot and secure it with the enlarged PCIe clip. Connect SATA drives, front panel headers and case fans, then attach the Wi‑Fi antennas. Power on and enter the UEFI BIOS to configure boot order, memory XMP/OC settings and network options.

Usage recommendations

For stable performance under sustained heavy load, ensure proper case airflow and use the MOSFET thermal pads and extended heatsinks provided. Update the UEFI BIOS to the latest version for optimal CPU and memory compatibility and enable recommended memory XMP/OC profiles only if adequate cooling and power delivery are in place.
