Group tent MSR Mutha Hubba NX 3 person(s) Grey Red
The MSR Mutha Hubba NX 3-person tent in Grey Red is a lightweight, freestanding group tent engineered for three occupants. Redesigned floorplan and updated frame geometry increase interior headroom and ventilation while maintaining a low total weight of 2.07 kg. The tent provides two large side-entry vestibules for gear storage, two StayDry™ doors with integrated rain gutters, and a versatile rainfly that supports cross-ventilation. Color-coded clips and a unified hub-and-pole system make setup straightforward, and the ultra-compact compression stuff sack simplifies packing for backpacking and multi-day trips.
The tent combines low weight with improved livable volume: head and elbow room is increased across the interior and the new floorplan gives each occupant easier access to doors and stored gear. Two large vestibules expand usable protected space for packs and footwear. The StayDry™ door design reduces water intrusion at entry points and the adaptable rainfly supports ventilation control in varied 3-season conditions. The hub-and-pole system and color-coded clips speed assembly and reduce setup errors while the compact sack minimizes packed volume.
Choose a flat, debris-free pitching site and lay out the tent footprint. Assemble the unified hub-and-pole frame and insert poles into the hub; use the color-coded clips to attach the tent body to the poles. Stake the tent corners and tension the vestibules as needed. Attach the rainfly and adjust vents to manage airflow and condensation depending on weather conditions. Store packs in the side vestibules to keep the sleeping area clear. For packing, remove stakes, collapse the poles into the hub, fold the tent body and rainfly, then compress into the included stuff sack.
For extended trips, use the Fast & Light configuration (if available) to reduce carried weight. Pitch on durable surfaces and avoid low spots to limit water pooling. Allow airflow by opening rainfly vents or doors in fair weather to reduce condensation. Regularly clean and dry the tent before long-term storage to preserve fabrics and seam treatments.
