NATEC Camera Cover Plug NWC-1488/3 3-pack — sliding webcam privacy covers
NATEC Camera Cover Plug NWC-1488/3 3-pack contains three compact sliding webcam privacy covers designed to be attached to laptops, monitors or tablets to physically block the camera lens when it is not needed. Each cover is low-profile and intended to prevent accidental recording, enhance privacy and reduce stray light or glare on the lens without affecting device operation.
The sliding mechanism allows one-handed opening and closing while maintaining a slim profile that does not interfere with closing the laptop lid. Adhesive backing provides secure attachment to glass or plastic surfaces and permits precise placement over the camera. The simple mechanical design requires no software or power and works independently of device settings or operating system updates.
Clean the area around the camera lens with a lint-free cloth and, if needed, an alcohol wipe to remove dust and oils. Peel off the adhesive protective film and carefully position the cover so the slider aligns with the camera lens; press firmly for a few seconds to ensure adhesion. Slide the cover to the open position when using the camera and slide it closed to block the lens when privacy is required. If removal is necessary, lift gently from one edge and peel away slowly to avoid residue; any remaining adhesive can be removed with an appropriate solvent following device manufacturer guidance.
For best results, attach covers to flat, dry, and clean bezels; avoid bonding to textured or curved surfaces. Periodically check adhesion and the slider operation to ensure consistent performance, especially after exposure to temperature changes or frequent travel.
