Nexans SKK40/15 is a heat-shrink end cap with internal adhesive, sized 40/15 mm in black. It is designed to deliver electrical insulation, environmental sealing and mechanical protection for cable ends, connectors and splices. The product is intended for low-voltage installations and for repair and maintenance work where exposed conductors need protection from moisture, dirt and corrosion.
The heat-shrink material combined with an inner adhesive layer forms a tight, durable seal around cable ends and connectors once heated. The 40/15 mm sizing provides a large shrink ratio for fitting over varying diameters while shrinking down to a compact, secure finish. Its black outer jacket offers UV resistance and basic abrasion protection suitable for many indoor and sheltered outdoor applications. The adhesive contributes to strain relief and long-term environmental sealing.
Slide the end cap over the cable end or connector so that it fully covers the exposed conductors or splice area. Apply heat evenly with a suitable heat gun, starting from the center and moving toward the ends to ensure uniform shrinkage and adhesive flow. Continue heating until the outer jacket has conformably shrunk and the internal adhesive has melted and flowed to form a continuous seal. Allow the assembly to cool before handling to ensure the adhesive sets and the jacket stabilizes.
Use a regulated heat source and follow safe heating practices to avoid overheating. For best results, ensure surfaces are clean and dry before application. Select the end cap size so the unshrunk diameter easily fits over the component and shrinks to provide tight mechanical and environmental protection.
