Flashlight Nextorch C2 UV 405nm – Nextorch portable UV torch, powered by 2×AA

The Nextorch C2 UV 405nm is a compact, handheld ultraviolet flashlight designed for inspection and detection tasks. Emitting near‑visible UV light at 405 nanometres, this portable UV torch is powered by two AA batteries, offering a balance of runtime and convenience without requiring special battery types. The lightweight housing and simple on/off operation make the C2 UV suitable for field work, home use, and hobby applications where a focused UV source is needed.

Advantages

The Nextorch C2 UV 405nm provides a concentrated UV beam for clear visualization of fluorescence and markings that are difficult to see under normal light. Its use of common AA batteries ensures easy replacement and wide availability, while the compact form factor supports handheld inspection and transport. The torch’s single-wavelength output at 405 nm reduces visible blue light spill compared with broader-spectrum lamps, helping to highlight fluorescent substances and security features.

Suitable for

• Counterfeit document and banknote inspection
• Locating pet urine stains and biological residues
• Inspecting fluorescent inks, pigments and materials
• Hobbyist tasks such as mineral and fossil fluorescence observation
• Quick field checks for craftsmanship, repairs and leak detection where fluorescent tracers are used

When it may not be suitable

The Nextorch C2 UV 405nm is intended for short-range inspection and tasks requiring a focused UV spot; it is not a replacement for high-power forensic or laboratory UV systems that require controlled intensity and wavelength stability. It is also not designed for continuous industrial use where advanced cooling or long runtime on a single charge would be necessary.

Key specifications

• UV wavelength: 405 nm (near‑visible violet‑UV)
• Power source: 2 × AA batteries (user supplied)
• Form factor: compact handheld flashlight
• Typical applications: inspection, fluorescence detection, hobby use
• Construction: lightweight portable housing designed for field use

How to use

Insert two fresh AA batteries observing polarity, then switch the torch on using the main power control. Direct the beam at the area to be inspected in a dim or darkened environment to improve fluorescence visibility. Maintain a short working distance — typically a few centimeters to a couple of metres depending on the target and ambient light — and move the torch slowly to reveal fluorescent markings or stains. Replace batteries when output dims to preserve consistent detection performance.

What to consider before purchase

• Required inspection distance and beam size for your tasks
• Availability and preference for AA batteries versus rechargeable solutions
• Need for higher powered or laboratory-grade UV equipment for specialized applications
• Whether a single‑wavelength 405 nm source is appropriate for the materials you intend to examine

Usage recommendations

For best results, use the torch in low ambient light and allow eyes a short period to adapt to darkness. Wear appropriate eye protection if working at very close range and avoid shining the beam directly into eyes. Test on a small area first when inspecting delicate surfaces or unknown materials.
