Fan controller Corsair iCUE Commander Core XT — 6-channel, 4-pin fan connectors, black
Corsair iCUE Commander Core XT is a compact 6-channel fan and RGB controller designed to manage PWM case and radiator fans in desktop PC builds. The black unit supports up to six 4-pin PWM fan connectors and integrates with CORSAIR iCUE software for fan speed control, temperature-based profiles and system-wide RGB lighting management. The Commander Core XT includes two repositionable temperature sensors and offers connectivity for additional CORSAIR RGB devices to centralize cooling and lighting control.
The Commander Core XT combines PWM fan control and RGB lighting management in a single device, enabling precise fan speed adjustments including Zero RPM mode for low-noise operation. Two included temperature sensors provide accurate thermal feedback to iCUE for automatic fan and lighting adjustments. The unit’s low-profile black design with embedded magnets simplifies installation and placement inside a case, while software integration allows monitoring and custom profiles for multiple fans and lighting zones.
Mount the Commander Core XT in a suitable location inside the PC case using the embedded magnets or mounting hardware. Connect up to six 4-pin PWM fans to the fan headers and attach the included temperature sensors at points where you want to monitor system temperatures. Connect the unit to the motherboard or power source as described in the manufacturer instructions, then install CORSAIR iCUE software on the system. Use iCUE to detect connected fans and RGB devices, configure fan curves, assign Zero RPM behavior, and create lighting profiles that respond to temperature or system events.
Place the temperature sensors near heat sources such as the CPU, GPU or radiator inlet for accurate readings; avoid mounting sensors next to direct airflow from a single fan to prevent skewed temperature-based control. For quiet operation, enable Zero RPM mode for fans in low-load scenarios and create gradual fan curves in iCUE to balance cooling and noise.
