Fan Noctua NF-A12x25
The Noctua NF-A12x25 5V is a 120 mm computer fan engineered for efficient cooling in 5V systems. With a maximum rotational speed of 1900 RPM and an airflow of 96.2 m³/h, it combines high performance with low noise through advanced aerodynamic measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, ultra-tight tip clearance and an AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame. The fan uses a Self-Stabilising Oil-pressure (SSO2) bearing and a metal-reinforced motor hub for long-term stability and precise operation. Supplied accessories include a USB power adaptor cable and an OmniJoin™ adaptor set for flexible 5V installations.
The NF-A12x25 5V delivers a balanced P/Q curve that performs well both in static-pressure and high-airflow scenarios, making it suitable for heatsinks, radiators and unrestricted case intake/exhaust. Its Sterrox® LCP impeller and ultra-tight 0.5 mm tip clearance increase efficiency and reduce leakage, while Flow Acceleration Channels and inner surface microstructures lower vortex noise and improve on-application acoustics. The fan’s AAO frame integrates anti-vibration pads and a stepped inlet design to further minimise tonal intake noise. Included cable options and adaptors provide installation flexibility for non-standard 5V connectors.
Connect the NF-A12x25 5V to a 5V power source using the supplied USB power adaptor cable for USB hosts or power banks, or use the OmniJoin™ adaptor set to interface with proprietary 5V fan headers. Ensure correct polarity when connecting; the fan includes polarity protection but proper wiring is recommended. Mount the fan using standard screws or vibration-damping mounts on cases, radiators or heatsinks, ensuring the airflow direction matches the intended intake or exhaust configuration. Do not connect the 5V model to 12V sources such as typical motherboard fan headers, as this will damage the fan.
For optimal acoustic and cooling performance, install the fan in configurations that benefit from its strong mid-range P/Q curve — for example on radiators or tight-finned heatsinks where static pressure is important. Use the included anti-vibration pads or soft mounts to minimise structure-borne noise and route the sleeved cables to reduce turbulence. When replacing existing fans, verify that the target device uses 5V supply and, if necessary, employ the OmniJoin™ adaptors rather than applying 12V power sources.
