Fan Noctua NF-A14 140 mm PWM 5 V 1.3 W Bronze/Beige, 1500 RPM, 140.2 m³/h, 24.6 dB
The Noctua NF-A14 5V PWM is a 140 mm, 5V PWM-controlled cooling fan designed for applications that require quiet, efficient airflow at low voltage. It uses Noctua’s Advanced Acoustic Optimisation frame, Flow Acceleration Channels and a custom NE-FD3 PWM controller with Smooth Commutation Drive to reduce noise and improve efficiency. The fan includes a USB power adaptor cable, an OmniJoin™ adaptor set for proprietary connectors, a 20 cm primary cable plus a 30 cm extension, and is backed by a 6-year manufacturer’s warranty. Note: the 5V model must not be powered from 12V sources such as standard PC motherboard fan headers.
The NF-A14 5V PWM combines proven aerodynamic features — Flow Acceleration Channels, Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures — with an AAO frame and integrated anti-vibration pads to deliver high airflow efficiency with low acoustic emissions. SSO2 bearing technology, a CNC-milled brass bearing shell and polarity protection ensure long-term stability and safe operation. The integrated NE-FD3 PWM IC with SCD reduces PWM switching noise at low speeds, improving quiet operation in sensitive environments.
Connect the fan to a 5V power source using the supplied USB power adaptor cable or adapt the original device connector with the included OmniJoin™ adaptor set following the connector instructions. Use the 20 cm primary cable for compact installations and the 30 cm extension when additional reach is required. Control speed via a compatible 5V PWM signal if available; otherwise the fan will run at the default behaviour determined by the power source. Do not connect the fan to 12V supplies or standard 12V motherboard fan headers, as this will damage the unit.
Ensure correct polarity when attaching proprietary connectors; the fan includes polarity protection, but proper wiring prevents potential issues. For best acoustic performance, mount the fan using the integrated anti-vibration pads and avoid obstructing the inlet/outlet. Use the USB adaptor for portable or USB-powered setups and verify the device accepts a 5V fan before replacing any existing fan.
