Climbing rope BEAL Zenith 9.5 mm 70 m dynamic single rope
BEAL Zenith 9.5 mm 70 m is a dynamic single climbing rope designed for sport climbing, gym use and alpine routes. With a 9.5 mm diameter it balances low weight and handling, while a 70 m length covers most sport routes and many multi-pitch pitches. The rope construction provides controlled dynamic energy absorption on lead falls and a sheath designed for smooth belaying and reduced drag through quickdraws and hardware.
The slim 9.5 mm profile reduces pack bulk and rope weight, making the rope easier to carry on approaches and longer days. Despite its reduced diameter, the rope retains sufficient dynamic performance for lead falls and provides reliable sheath durability for repeated use on sport and alpine terrain. Its 70 m length increases route options compared with shorter ropes and allows longer single-pitch leads and many multi-pitch rappels when used appropriately.
Because of its 9.5 mm diameter, this rope is thinner and may show wear faster than thicker ropes when used extensively on abrasive rock or for frequent top-roping with high friction. Less experienced climbers or those who prioritize maximum durability and easier handling under heavy use might prefer a thicker diameter rope. For some rescue, guiding, or intensive rental environments, a more robust, thicker rope is generally recommended.
Use this rope as a single dynamic rope for lead climbing, top-roping, belaying and rappelling within its rated length. Regularly inspect the entire rope for signs of abrasion, core exposure, soft spots or other damage before each use. When clipping, minimize rope drag by placing quickdraws and gear to keep the rope line as straight as practicable. For rappels, use proper techniques and knots compatible with the rope diameter and always account for rope stretch when calculating rappel distances.
Store the rope dry and away from direct sunlight and chemicals, coil it properly to avoid kinks, and retire it if you detect core damage, significant sheath wear, or after severe falls as per manufacturer guidelines. Pair the 9.5 mm BEAL Zenith with a belay device rated for thin single ropes and inspect gear compatibility before climbing.
