Barlow lens Baader Q-Barlow 2.25× for 1.25" eyepieces
Barlow lens Baader Q-Barlow 2.25× for 1.25" eyepieces
Baader Q-Barlow 2.25× for 1.25" eyepieces is a compact Barlow lens that multiplies the effective focal length of compatible eyepieces by 2.25×. Designed for both visual observation and astrophotography, this 1.25" accessory fits standard focusers and aims to preserve the native image quality and eye relief of modern eyepieces while delivering higher magnification for detailed views of the Moon, planets and small deep-sky objects.
The Q-Barlow 2.25× maintains good contrast and sharpness across the field when used with well-corrected eyepieces, while its compact optical design reduces vignetting and keeps the eyepiece closer to parfocal position. Its 1.25" barrel size ensures compatibility with most common eyepieces and focusers, and the lens construction is intended to be suitable for both visual use and imaging with cameras adapted to 1.25" holders.
Insert the Baader Q-Barlow 2.25× into the telescope’s 1.25" focuser or diagonal, then place the eyepiece into the Barlow’s 1.25" barrel. Focus the telescope as usual; fine adjustment may be necessary because the effective focal length is increased. For imaging, attach the camera to the 1.25" adapter or use an appropriate T‑ring/camera adapter to secure the imaging device. Check focus and framing carefully, as higher magnification reduces field of view and increases sensitivity to tracking errors.
Use the Q-Barlow with well-corrected eyepieces to maintain image sharpness and to preserve eye relief; when doing high-magnification planetary imaging, ensure stable mount tracking and good seeing conditions. Remove or replace the Barlow when switching to low-power wide-field views to regain the native field of the eyepiece.
