This server cooler stands out due to its exceptional durability and energy efficiency. The inclusion of a dual ball bearing fan ensures a long service life and consistent performance, making it an ideal choice for systems that require 24/7 reliability. Its design is optimized for high-density server chassis, providing effective heat dissipation while maintaining a compact footprint that fits within standard 4U rack spaces.
This cooler is specifically designed for 4U server chassis and may not fit into smaller 1U, 2U, or 3U rack enclosures due to its height. It is also not intended for standard consumer desktop cases that lack the specific mounting requirements for the supported server-grade processor sockets.
Installation should be performed by ensuring the motherboard is compatible with the supported socket types listed. The cooler is mounted directly onto the processor socket using the provided hardware. Ensure that the thermal interface material is applied correctly between the CPU heat spreader and the cooler base for optimal heat transfer. Once secured, connect the fan power cable to the appropriate motherboard header.
For optimal performance and longevity, ensure that the server environment has adequate intake and exhaust airflow to support the cooler's heat dissipation capabilities. Regularly inspect the fan for dust accumulation to maintain peak efficiency.
The ARCTIC Freezer 4U-M Rev. 2 delivers broad compatibility and exceptional efficiency for demanding server environments. Its large contact surface and improved mounting system support a wide range of Intel and AMD server sockets — including Intel LGA 4710, LGA 4189, LGA 4677 and Ampere Altra LGA4926, plus AMD SP6, sTR5, SP3, TR4, sTRX4 and sWRX8. Despite cooling CPUs with up to 64 cores and handling up to 350 W TDP, the cooler draws only 2.88 W, providing powerful heat dissipation without excess power consumption.

Designed with server and workstation builds in mind, the Freezer 4U-M Rev. 2 provides 53 mm of RAM clearance, accommodating memory modules with moderate heatsinks. This space improves compatibility and promotes unobstructed airflow for better overall cooling performance.

With an optimized installation height of just 145 mm and compact dimensions of 156 x 124 mm, this cooler fits classic 4U server racks and most consumer 4U cases. Its low profile and design also make it suitable for dual-socket motherboards. For flexible system layouts, the fans can be swapped to reverse airflow direction when necessary.

Equipped with 120 mm PWM fans from ARCTIC's acclaimed P series, the Freezer 4U-M Rev. 2 is optimized for static pressure and high fin density. The push–pull fan configuration maximizes heat transfer and maintains efficient cooling under heavy server workloads while operating quietly — ideal for office workstations and noise-sensitive environments. The dual-fan setup also offers redundancy, reducing the risk of overheating if one fan underperforms.

Both fans use durable dual ball bearings engineered for continuous, around-the-clock operation. This bearing type resists contamination and wear from high temperatures far better than sleeve or fluid-dynamic bearings, ensuring long-term reliability and dependable performance in sustained server use.

The cooler ships with ARCTIC MX-6 thermal paste to reduce thermal resistance between the CPU heat spreader and the cooler. MX-6 is formulated for ultimate performance and is non-conductive and non-capacitive, making it safe and effective for professional installations.
