Rittal 7979.417 Managed Power Distribution Unit with 13 AC Outlets
The Rittal 7979.417 is a managed power distribution unit (PDU) engineered for precise power management within professional IT server racks. Constructed with a durable aluminium and plastic housing, this unit provides reliable power distribution for data center environments. It features 13 AC outlets, consisting of a combination of C13 and C19 couplers, and is designed to handle a maximum power capacity of 3700 W at 230 V.
This managed PDU offers advanced monitoring capabilities, including energy measurement for each individual output slot with an accuracy of ± 1%. It supports tool-free vertical mounting in the zero-U space of Rittal VX IT or TS IT racks, simplifying installation. The unit includes programmable switching and startup behavior, an integrated real-time clock with battery backup, and an electromagnetic buzzer for acoustic alarms. Furthermore, it features color-coded phases to assist with organized cable management and allows for adjustable limit values for current, voltage, and power output per slot.
This unit may not be suitable for applications requiring power loads exceeding 3700 W or 16 A. It is specifically designed for rack-mount environments and may not be appropriate for standalone desktop or industrial floor-standing equipment that does not conform to standard rack dimensions.
The PDU is designed for tool-free vertical installation within compatible Rittal server racks. Once mounted in the zero-U space, connect the unit to the power source using the integrated cable. The device is self-supplied, meaning no external power supply is required for operation. Configuration of switching behavior, alarm thresholds, and monitoring settings can be managed through the unit's interface. The real-time clock and programmable logic ensure that the unit maintains its status and operational parameters even after power recovery.
Usage recommendations: Regularly monitor the energy consumption data provided by the unit to optimize power distribution. Ensure the battery for the real-time clock is replaced as needed to maintain accurate logging and alarm functions.
