Scarpa BOOSTIC R Climbing Shoes
The Scarpa BOOSTIC R is a high-performance climbing shoe engineered for precision and technical climbing on demanding routes. Featuring a multi-panel upper made from 2 mm microfiber and suede, the shoe combines durability with a highly elastic fit for easy entry. The dual-strap closure system allows for a customizable fit, while the V-Tension system works in synergy with the sole to concentrate power on the big toe and maintain support across the arch.
The shoe utilizes a 4 mm full-length Vibram XS Edge sole, which provides exceptional stability and allows for precise weight distribution on the smallest holds. This rubber compound is highly resistant to plastic deformation, ensuring the shoe maintains its shape and performance even under repeated stress in various temperature conditions. The inclusion of a 1 mm curved Flexan midsole insert offers a balance of structural support and sensitivity, while the V-Tension technology keeps the foot securely in place without the need for additional back support.
These shoes may not be the best choice for beginners who require a more comfortable, neutral-fitting shoe for long periods of wear. Due to their technical design and focus on power and precision, they might feel too aggressive or restrictive for casual climbing or long multi-pitch routes where all-day comfort is the primary requirement.
To put on the Scarpa BOOSTIC R, loosen the dual-strap closure system fully to allow the elastic upper to expand. Slide your foot into the shoe, ensuring your heel is properly seated in the heel cup. Once your foot is positioned, tighten the straps to achieve a secure, snug fit that prevents movement within the shoe. The tension should be firm enough to provide support on small edges but comfortable enough to allow for technical footwork.
We recommend resoling your climbing shoes at an official SCARPA authorized center before the wear and tear becomes excessive. This practice preserves the structural integrity of the shoe and significantly prolongs its performance life.
