Technical Mountaineering Boot Scarpa RIBELLE HD WOMAN, women's, 590 g weight (per boot)
Scarpa RIBELLE HD WOMAN is a technical women's mountaineering boot engineered for alpine routes, mixed terrain and glacier travel. At approximately 590 g per boot, it combines a water-repellent Perwanger suede upper with HDry®-laminated membranes and 37.5® lining to provide waterproofing, breathability and thermal regulation while maintaining a precise, sock-like fit through the Sock-Fit XT construction and Dynamic Tech Roll integration with the sole.
The upper uses 2.5 mm water-repellent Perwanger suede with water-repellent microfiber inserts and a stretch fabric collar for comfort. A lightweight polyurethane rand on the lateral side and rubber reinforcements on the medial side and toe increase durability. The Speed Lacing system with bi-component hardware allows quick volume adjustment and a progressive, locked fit around the ankle. The Precision Tech Roll low-profile sole and Vibram® Mont outsole deliver a lightweight, responsive feel with stability and compatibility with semi-automatic crampons. The Pro Fiber Roll insole with polypropylene and fiberglass provides targeted anti-torsion stiffness for support and performance.
These boots are designed for technical alpine use and may be heavier or stiffer than casual hiking footwear; they are not intended for everyday urban wear or light, fast trail running. Climbers seeking ultra-minimalist or purely rock-climbing shoes may find the mountaineering fit and protective features excessive.
Use the Speed Lacing system to quickly set overall volume through the lower lacing section, then secure the ankle and fine-tune fit with the upper lace lock and hooks for progressive tension distribution. These boots accept semi-automatic crampons for glacier travel; ensure crampon compatibility before heading onto ice. Maintain membrane performance by keeping the HDry® lamination clean and repairing outer scuffs or worn soles through authorized resoling services when tread wear affects performance.
For best performance on alpine terrain, use these boots with appropriate alpine socks, check lace tension regularly to avoid hot spots, and resoles should be scheduled before outsole wear becomes excessive. For glacier travel, pair with semi-automatic crampons and carry standard glacier safety equipment.
